Notice of Annual Meeting & Election of Officers

Corinthian Yacht Club, Tiburon, CA

 

Our annual meeting and party will be a fun, relaxing evening before the next day’s rush of welcoming the public to our Wooden Boat Show at the grand setting and venue that is the Corinthian Yacht Club.  We have invited CYC members to join us at the dinner so that we can get to know each other better and show our appreciation for hosting our boat show.

4:00 pm – Band & Cocktails begin
Music & Dancing to the band FIREWHEEL

6:00 pm – Annual Meeting

Dinner with Corinthian YC members:
5:30 – 8:00 pm – Buffet dinner, $33 per person
Credit Cards only. Sorry, no cash.

Drinks available at the bar until 9:00 pm
The MMBA Board elections will take place at 6:00 pm.  As spelled out in the MMBA By-Laws, membership is to meet annually and vote for open Director positions. The “first order of business” is the election. The members running for the Board are introduced, and a vote by members is requested.  Any member wishing to run for the Board should submit a letter via email to Jr. Staff Commodore Bill Belmont  (    bearasc @ eartlink.net     )  at least 5 days before the meeting date.  Candidates’ names will be sent out to current members in advance of the election via email “blast”.  The current Board Members whose seats are expiring are:

Mike Proudfoot:    Membership Chair
Jennifer Hinckle:  General events and Sponsorship
Cory Lancaster:   Spring Pot Luck

Jennifer and Cory are running again as incumbents.

You will get to know more of your fellow members and have a lot of fun if you get involved and throw your hat in the ring.

Upon arrival at Corinthian YC on Saturday afternoon, please see Bill Belmont to cast your vote for your choice of the candidates.  At appx. 6:00 pm the Member Meeting will occur on the lower deck at CYC and the new Directors will be announced along with other pertinent MMBA news and notices of the day.   Please also sign up to help volunteer at the meeting for the Boat Show duties on Sunday, June 25th.  We need people to take shifts at the entry gate from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and also to help sell MMBA T-shirts.

The meeting will be followed by a no-host dinner with live music.  If you are unable to attend, candidate names have been forwarded to members in advance by email, and members in good standing can mail their choices and other nominee names by mail, limited to four choices total.
